Golfing
Always
check "Golfer's Guide" (a free magazine normally
on display at most golf courses or Edwin Watts golf shops)
for vouchers. These often give $10 off per round per player
or free range balls.
Always
book a course at least a couple of days in advance, longer
if you want to play at the weekend.
Nearly
all courses have hire clubs available, most of a very
high standard. It is better to arrange these when you
book your round.
Twilight
rate (normally after1 pm or 2pm) is substantially cheaper.
You normally do finish the round, but even 15 or 16 holes
at the lower cost is often worthwhile.
Always
ask if a course has any offers available, you will be
surprised at the number of courses that will barter especially
in the summer. There is a senior rate for 55+ .
The
golfing high season tends to be between February and May,
June through September tends to be very warm and not so
popular consequently this is when many courses offer superb
deals, even at the more exclusive clubs.
If
you intend playing a course for a second time on the same
day, most courses will offer a very reasonable "Replay
" rate if you mention this when booking in.
Nearly
all courses insist on buggies and many will pair you up
if you book as a two ball.
Most courses will organise playing partners for you if
you are on your own.
Most
course clubhouses have full restaurant facilities.
There
are numerous golf clubs within easy reach of either of
our villas. Below are some of the many we have either
played or have had highly recommended. The costs quoted
are only rough indications and it is worth calling each
course for the current rates which alter throughout the
year.
